NBA officials announced today that the board of directors has unanimously approved the Celtics' equity transfer transaction.

The NBA's board of directors reportedly unanimously approved the sale of the Celtics' equity to an investment group led by Chisholm. The transaction is expected to be completed soon.

According to previous reports, in March this year, Chisholm, co-founder of Symphony Technology Group, agreed to acquire the Celtics from the Grossbeck family at a valuation of $6.1 billion. Chisholm Group will acquire 51% of the team's shares this summer, and the remaining part will be completed in 2028.

According to a recent letter to existing shareholders received by the Boston Globe, Chisholm's funds for the acquisition of Celtics have been fully in place, and the new shareholder team has finally determined.

It is understood that former boss Wake Grosbeck will no longer serve as the team's director. The previous plan was that Grosbeck remained in management until 2028. Chisholm will take over as his new team director, and Grosbeck will continue to serve as the team's CEO and substitute president, and all power transfer is expected to be completed soon.
