During the NBA regular season, the Lakers narrowly defeated the Kings 127-120 in an away game to win two consecutive games. After the game, Reeves was interviewed.

When asked about the highest score in a single game in his basketball career, Reeves revealed: "I scored 73 points in high school. That game went into three overtimes. I made a lot of free throws, and I only made four three-pointers in that game."

"The opponent played man-to-man in every round, running and jumping very actively. Yes, in the end we won 117 to 115. We played three overtimes. There was a kid on the other team who scored 59 points. We tried to guard him, and I guess they wanted to guard me, but there was no defense at all in that game."

In this campaign, Reeves made 12 of 22 shots, 6 of 10 three-pointers, and 21 free throws, scoring a career-high 51 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals.
