Daily: Barcelona executive Escudero appointed Catalan Football Federation’s new economic vice-president

According to "Daily Sports" report, Barcelona executive Antonio Escudero has been appointed as the new economic vice president of the Catalan Football Association. The Catalan Football Association board of directors approved the appointment on Tuesday.

Escudero is currently a member of the Board of Directors under FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta, responsible for the social affairs area, and will also take on his new role at the Catalan Football Federation. He has a deep connection with Catalan football.

He served as president of Girona Club from 1999 to 2001. During this period, the team successfully emerged from difficulties and was promoted to the third division. Before that, Escudero was a football referee. From 1973 to 1984, he served as the referee and assistant referee in La Liga.

In addition to his work in the football field, Escudero is also the president and manager of his own business group in La Jonquera, and is also the person in charge of "Nova Weekly". In addition, he serves as President of the Federation of Hospitality Industry of the Girona Region and Vice-President of the Federation of Hotel and Catering Enterprises of Catalonia.

This appointment is in line with the strategy of Catalan Football Federation President Soteras, who aims to strengthen the organizational structure of the Football Association by introducing talents with close ties to Catalan football and management experience.
