Le Parisien reported that the location selection of Paris Saint-Germain's future stadium has entered a critical stage.
PSG is conducting final site selection for future large-scale stadium projects. This week, two final candidate cities will showcase their plans to club executives. On Tuesday, the city of Poissi in Evelyn was presented, followed by Massi in Esson on Thursday.
This is the first step in Paris Saint-Germain's grand plan, which has attracted much attention and is expected to take the club to a new level. This week, the Paris Club will meet with the two final candidate cities to discuss potential new stadium locations. Due to the limited capacity of the Princes stadium, Paris Saint-Germain hopes that the new stadium can accommodate 60,000 to 90,000 spectators.
On Tuesday, September 23, European champion Paris Saint-Germain organized the first local steering committee meeting in Poissi. The second meeting is scheduled to be held in Massi City on Thursday, September 25. The meeting was chaired by Paris Saint-Germain General Manager Victoriano Melero, and several regional officials attended the meeting, including Poissi Mayor Sandline Dos Santos, Ile-de-France President Valerie Pecres, and parliamentarians Pierre Bedir and Carl Oliver.
"The launch of the first steering committee shows that the club wants to work with all stakeholders in a transparent and collective manner," Paris Saint-Germain General Manager Victoriano Mellero said in a statement. "I am glad that all participants responded to the invitation of Paris Saint-Germain: Government officials and regional representatives at all levels. Their active participation proves interest in the project and only their support can make the project come true. Our goal is to build a stadium that is fully integrated into its region."
Paris statement stated: "The discussion focuses on the selection of Masi and Poissi as research sites. The club also introduced the overall tracking organization of the project, as well as topics that need to be discussed in the future phase, transportation, mobilization, usage, etc. The participants emphasized the importance of understanding this initiative from all aspects, creating value, promoting regional development and sustainable integration into the urban and social environment. "
The Steering Committees chaired by Paris Saint-Germain will meet regularly to support the research and address the key conditions required for the implementation of the project. The club will go to Massi this Thursday to continue the discussion.
