Senior FA: There is no need to expand VAR permissions, the current mode has enough interference

According to the BBC, FA CEO Mark Bringham said there is no need to expand the authority of VAR.

It was previously reported that the FIFA Council (IFAB) of the football legislature will be asked to consider expanding the power of VAR, including intervening in a corner and a second yellow card, but Bringham clearly objected.

Bringham said: "We don't think it's necessary to expand the scope of VAR. IFAB often discusses what VAR should do and how to develop, and our position is that we are in a good state now.

Of course, if someone proposes a plan to IFAB for its consideration, then as a whole we will consider it. But for us, we don't think VAR needs to be further expanded at the moment."

When asked why, Bringham said: "We think the current model has been disturbing the game enough."
