Recently, NBA reporter Nick Wright talked about Lakers forward James' "Second Decision" commercial in his personal podcast "What 's Wright".
"I may have thought wrong, I thought he was going to do an Amazon Prime Day ad because he has a partnership with Amazon. But yesterday when LeBron sent that tweet, Danny came to me and asked me if I saw LeBron's tweet, and I said yes. He asked, 'Do you think this is a big deal?' I said, 'I'd bet anything on this. ’ He asked me why, and he thought my answer was ridiculous. But I knew the reason it was an ad was, ‘Because he’s announcing the full version at noon. ’ I told him that’s why. “If LeBron is going to announce his retirement tour, he’s not going to do it on a Tuesday at noon. I can tell you this right now. There are really all kinds of questions. People from both this program group and the TV program group have sent me text messages asking us what preparations we want to make. I don’t want to say I ignored the texts, but I ignored them in my own mind. I was saying, 'Guys, I promise this is not inside information -' I was very nonchalant about it, and I'm certainly close to some of the people closest to LeBron, Maverick (Carter) is a good friend of mine, Rich (Paul) and I see each other a few times a year, and he works with my agent.
"I didn't even send any of them a text asking. It's so obvious to me that if he had tweeted the exact same thing and the full version was released on Monday at 7pm, my heart would have sunk and I would have thought maybe this would be a big deal. But Tuesday at noon? This guy is not going to announce his retirement at noon on a Tuesday. He's on Wearing the same T-shirt as when he announced his decision to join the Heat, the script was the same. I don't know how much Hennessey paid LeBron, but I do know that they will get free media exposure just because LeBron sent a tweet. I don't know how much his tweet is worth, but I will think it is money well spent."
