In the final game of the MLS regular season, Messi scored 3 shots and 1 pass to help Inter Miami beat Nashville 5-2. As a result, he won the title of MLS Player of the Round. Messi's total goals in the season reached 29 and he won the Golden Boot. He became the third Golden Boot winner since 2005 to score at least 29 goals, following Joseph Martinez (31 goals in 2018) and Carlos Vela (34 goals in 2019).

Messi's average of 1.03 goals per game is second only to Vela's 1.10 goals per game in the 2019 season among Golden Boot winners since 2005. It is worth noting that 28 of Messi's 29 goals were non-penalty kicks, the most in league history, and his only penalty kick came in the last round. In addition, with his assist against Nashville, Messi also tied for the league assists leader with 19 assists.

This is the sixth time Messi has won the title of Player of the Round this season, becoming the first player in MLS history to win the award six times in a single season.
